K-Mart Toy Clearance Finds

I saw on Hip2Save that clearance toys are an extra 50% off at K-Mart, so the girls and I went down there this morning to check it out. We bought the 6 items pictured (Trio Police Station, Clue Jr., Million Dollar Password, Handy Manny Pat & Rusty, Nascar Pit Stop Racer, and My Little Pony Newborn Cuties), 5 of which will be Christmas presents for a few of my neices and nephews (kiddos, if you're reading this, close your eyes). My price point for kids' gifts is $5, so this sale was perfect because all the toys except for the Trio Police Station were $5 or less (the Police Station was $5.50), and Million Dollar Password was the best deal priced at $2.49 (regularly priced at $21.49!!)!

American Eagle: FREE Shipping + 30% Off Clearance!

American Eagle is at it again! They are offering FREE shipping on all orders (NO minimum!) with coupon code 74936062. Plus, all clearance items are an EXTRA 30% off! One of my favorite finds is this Opal Multichain Necklace priced at $14.95 (only $10.46 after the extra 30% off!). FREE shipping is also good at 77kids and Aerie (and the Aerie clearance items are taking the extra 30% off, but the 77kids stuff isn't), so be sure to look around while you're at ae.com. Also, go through Ebates where you'll get 3% cash back from your American Eagle purchase.

Walgreens Trip

I went to Walgreens on Monday this week thinking I was only going to buy toothpaste. Hahaha. Famous last words. But I still did really well even though I bought more than I intended to. I did two transactions, but I ended up taking the stuff from my first transaction out to the van and then going back in for the other stuff because Fabian is on vacation this week (*sniffs loudly*), and I didn't want to test the patience of the "grumpy lady". Here's what I did:

Transaction #1:

Santitas tortilla chips = $2.00
Kettle chips = $1.50
Colgate toothpaste = $3.49
Dr. Scholl's Rough Foot Cream = $6.99
Dr. Scholl's Rough Foot Cream = $6.99
Pilot 2-pack pens = $1.19
Pilot 2-pack pens = $1.19
Ravina knee highs = $0.20
Ravina nylons = $0.30
Ravina nylons = $0.30
Ravina girls tights = $0.42
Ravina girls tights = $0.42

Subtotal = $24.99

- $5/1 Dr. Scholl's Rough Foot Cream from Walgreens July Coupon Booklet
- $5/1 Dr. Scholl's Rough Foot Cream from Walgreens July Coupon Booklet
- $1/1 Pilot pens from Walgreens July Coupon Booklet
- $1/1 Pilot pens from Walgreens July Coupon Booklet

Total = $10.99

After paying, I received a $5RR for the Dr. Scholl's and a $3.50RR for the toothpaste.

Transaction #2:

2 jumbo packs of Huggies diapers = $19.98
Ravina girls tights (filler item so I could use all the coupons below) = $0.42

Subtotal = $20.40

- $3.50/2 Huggies diapers (not available anymore)
- $5RR from first transaction
- $3.50RR from first transaction

Total = $8.40

The pens and foot cream were moneymakers, and the toothpaste was FREE! Plus I was able to use up my RRs on the diapers which I had to get anyway.

I'm a Winner!!

Yipee!! I just won a $50 gift certificate to restaurant.com from a Hip2Save giveaway! I'm super excited to try it out! I only wish there were more restaurants to choose from in Sheridan, but I think I'm going to get a gift certificate to the Bozeman Trail Steakhouse in Buffalo which is about 30 minutes away. It looks like the most family friendly of the options available.

UPDATE: You might also want to read this article on Hip2Save about why you SHOULD use coupons. Very interesting!

Have you seen this article on Yahoo! Finance about couponing? It really rips couponing as a waste of time. Fortunately, Heather over at Krazy Coupon Lady has a wonderful rebuttal article you really should read. Even more fascinating, however, is this article in which the author of the Yahoo! article actually endorses using coupons to get the best price on groceries! Kinda makes me not take her too seriously.

HOT $2/1 Smart Balance Milk Coupon!

...and the high value coupons keep coming! Go here and use zip code 10038 to score 4 (count 'em, 4!) $2/1 Smart Balance Milk coupons! If you sort by the "Food" category, you should see two different $2 coupons which you can then print twice giving you a total of 4 coupons! I'm not sure how much this milk runs around here, but I'm sure the $2 off will make it very affordable. I've also heard that it has a long shelf life. The coupons also don't expire until 9/30/10, so we'll have plenty of time to use them and even wait for a good BOGO sale.

HOT $2/1 Gold'n Plump Coupon!

Go here to request this great coupon! I get so excited to save on what I already buy! Note that you'll need to click on the second yellow "Request Coupon" button under the words "Request by 07.30.10". For some reason it's not showing a picture or description, but I just did it that way and it worked. Also note that the print limit is 1.

I sent mine last night and haven't received my code yet, but they do state that you should receive your code by 11:59pm CST tomorrow, so it should show up before then. Note that you must purchase shoes, not socks or other accessories. I'm considering getting another pair of Teva Mush flip flops. Love 'em!

Albertsons Doubler Deals!

It was a great week at Albertsons doubling those coupons! To make it even better, I got my favorite doubling cashier, Melinda, who made my three transactions a breeze! Here's what I did:

Transaction #1:

4 Kellogg's Rice Krispies @ $2.50 each = $10.00
1 Kellogg's Cinnabon cereal = $2.50
1 Kellogg's Raisin Bran = $2.50
1 Kellogg's Eggo Maple cereal = $2.50
1 Kellogg's S'mores cereal = $2.50
1 Albertson's chocolate chips = $1.99
2 Libby canned green beans @ $1.25 each = $2.50
1 Drinkable fruit and vegetables = $9.99

Subtotal: $34.48

- $8.00 for purchasing 8 cereals in one transaction
- $1/2 Kellogg's cereal
- $1 double coupon
- $1/2 Kellogg's cereal
- $1 double coupon
- $1/2 Kellogg's cereal
- $1 double coupon
- $1/1 Eggo Maple cereal peelie coupon
- $1/1 S'mores cereal peelie coupon
- $1.25 from FREE Libby's vegetables coupon
- $1.25 from FREE Libby's vegetables coupon

Total: $15.98

Transaction #2:

1 Green Works bathroom cleaner = $2.59 (clearanced)
1 Tillamook medium cheddar cheese 2 lb. = $5.99
1 bag of red delicious apples @ $0.99/lb. = $6.35

Subtotal: $14.93

- $1/1 Green Works cleaner
- $1 double coupon
- $1/1 Tillamook cheese from the Safeway Dairy coupon booklet (manufacturer's coupon)
- $1 double coupon
- $1 off bag of apples peelie
- $1 double coupon

Total: $8.93

Transaction #3:

1 Ronzoni spaghetti = $1.69
1 Ronzoni whole wheat spaghetti = $1.69
1 Ronzoni whole wheat penne = $1.69
1 Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap = $1.99

Subtotal: $7.06

- $0.75/1 Ronzoni
- $1 double coupon (Melinda put the double coupon through as $1 even though it should have been $0.75. I know whose lane I'll be picking from now on!)
- $1/2 Ronzoni
- $1 double coupon
- $1/1 Dawn Hand Renewal from the Home Made Simple coupon booklet
- $1 double coupon

Total: $1.31

So the boxes of cereal actually cost $0.50 each (thanks to the peelies I found because I could only double 3 of the $1/2 Kellogg's coupons, not 4), and the FREE stuff was: 1 box of Ronzoni pasta, 2 cans of Libby's green beans, and 1 Dawn Hand Renewal. The Green Works cleaner was almost FREE costing $0.59. I love it when I can donate stuff like that to my church without spending a fortune! If you'd like specifics like where to print the cereal coupons, etc., go here to see The Krazy Coupon Lady's Albertsons matchups.

To sweeten this deal even further, go through Ebates where you'll get a $5 sign-up bonus (if you haven't already) and get an extra 2% cash back from your Gap purchase! Here's what I scored earlier today:

Favorite long-sleeved T

regular rise cotton bikini

After the 30% discount and including tax and shipping, my total came to $18.84 for all four items (two of which are gifts which makes me feel better about placing the order). :) You can also go here to print off a coupon to use in store, but unfortunately that wasn't an option for me. If you can't make it today, July 13-14 you can save 25%, and on July 15 you could save 20%.

Red Baron Coupon!

There is a $2/1 Red Baron Pizza By the Slice coupon on Smartsource.com! Go here to print it. It sounds like these are priced at $2.50 at Target, and I was able to get one awhile ago at Safeway for $2.50 also (on which, of course, I used a $2/1 coupon). They are pretty tasty, but then, when it comes to pizza I'm not too picky. :)

Keebler Crackers $0.50 at Walgreens!

According to my all time favorite coupon guru at Hip2Save, Keebler Club crackers are buy 2 get a $2RR this week. There's also a great $1/1 coupon to pair with this sale! Just go here to access the coupon on Snackpicks.com. You'll need to put in your email and a password to access this coupon (the site will automatically register you when you do this if you haven't been there before). Here's what my scenario looks like:

Buy 2 Keebler Club Crackers $2.50 each = $2 Register Reward
Buy 1 Snicker's bar (filler item) $0.49
Use 2 $1/1 Keebler coupons
Use in-ad Mars candy coupon
Use $2RR from last week
Pay $1.49
Get back a $2RR
Final cost ONLY $0.50 per box!

Using the RR from last week just reduces my OOP for this transaction. I'll still have a $2RR I'll have to use, but at least the expiration date will be longer.

4 Years of Taste of Home for $14.00!

I'm so excited! I just signed up for a 4-year subscription to one of my favorite magazines for ONLY $14.00! The last time I renewed my Taste of Home subscription I paid $10.00 for one year which was as cheap as I had ever seen it. This time it works out to $3.50 per year!! Go here to access this deal which is available through Tanga. For me at first it said it would cost $17.99 per year, but I used coupon code HOME at checkout which brought it down to the $3.50 per year price.

UPDATE: Safeway Coupon Policy

Not surprisingly, Safeway has now updated their coupon policy in regards to using RRs from Walgreens. This is what point #9 now states: “Safeway will accept valid Catalina manufacturer coupon that is issued to a customer by another retailer only if such coupon is for a specific item.” So, say you get a Catalina coupon from Albertsons for $1.00 off Folgers Black Silk coffee, you can use that coupon at Safeway. But no more using regular RRs from Walgreens. Bummer. But I'm glad I at least got to use my $10RR before they changed the policy. Go here to view and print the newly updated policy. I'm so glad I checked this out before I headed to Safeway this morning with my RRs in hand. That would have been a little embarrassing. :)
